A Fun & Festive Halloween-Themed Toilet Paper Holder Is So Easy To Make
The haunting season is almost here. Nights are cooling off, pumpkin spice lattes are back on the menu, and magazines are announcing all the fall home decor trends to embrace this year. It's the perfect time to take down all your beachy summer furnishings and start decking the halls with zombies and flying brooms. However, one place you might not think to place these festive accessories is the bathroom.
Whether you have children to get in the spirit or are throwing a Halloween bash, the washroom is a prime place to decorate, and there's a festive craft that transforms an average toilet paper dispenser into an All Hallows Eve icon — the Jack-o-lantern. There aren't a lot of spooky powder room options on store shelves, but fortunately, there are many cheap and easy Halloween decorations you can DIY. For this one, all you'll need are a few items that you can find at a local department store.

Although some may prefer subtle ways to decorate their homes for Halloween, This DIY craft is the opposite. To give your toilet paper dispenser a festive glow-up, you only need three items. A Jack-o-lantern treat bucket, like the Mini Treat Pail from Walmart for $0.98, a box cutter, and two zip ties, like the Hyper Tough Cable Ties from Walmart for $1.97. Before you begin, it's important to mention that while this craft has a child-like quality, it's not safe for kids. Using the knife to maneuver bumpy shapes on the candy container is tricky. So, with that in mind, let's start.
Step one is slicing the bucket in half, separating the face from the back. Instagram user, @heybrooklynb, did this freehand, but you may want to use a marker outline the bucket first to ensure a cleaner cut. Next, completely cut out the mouth and poke out one hole on both sides of the face. Use zip ties to fasten these holes to the front of your toilet paper dispenser. Then, feed some tissue through the mouth of the Jack-o-lantern, and voila. A spectacularly scary washroom accessory. This Halloween craft is next-level nostalgic and the use of a classic candy bucket is fun for kids and adults alike.
